  • Canvas is now available for preview and exploration

  • You can begin exploring and preparing your course(s) at your own pace

  • Support is available through workshops, drop-ins, and self-paced resources

Canvas Early Access Preview is Now Available

Canvas is now available for faculty and staff to explore and begin preparing for Fall 2026.

Just a reminder, no immediate changes are required. This spring and summer are a time for exploration and preparation. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ will gain access to Canvas later this summer, and courses will not be taught in Canvas until August 2026.

Start Here: Canvas Transition Hub

From the Hub, you can:

  • Ìýand migrate your courses from Moodle

  • Ìýand ongoing updates

We recommend beginning with theÌýGetting StartedÌýsection to explore your dashboard, access your fall 2026 courses or sandbox courses, and get familiar with Canvas.

Access Canvas

You can now log in using your Elon credentials and begin exploring: Access Canvas atÌý.

Once logged in:

  • You will see courses you’ve been assigned to teach in Fall 2026 (unpublished)

  • A sandbox or practice course will be available, withÌý

  • Non-academic courses are not currently available

If something is not working as expected, you canÌý.

Preparing Your Course

When you’re ready, you can begin preparing your Fall 2026 courses in Canvas.

Ìýis available through the Canvas Transition Hub and includes how to export your Moodle course and import it into Canvas.

  • Most content will transfer successfully

  • Some elements may need review or adjustment

This process is flexible. You can start now, later this spring, over the summer, or during Planning Week. We’re here to support you as you explore and begin building your Fall courses.

Course Templates

New Canvas courses will include Elon course templates. These templates include commonly used course elements and university-wide student resources to help reduce setup time and support a more consistent student experience.

Templates are intended as a helpful starting point, not a requirement. You can choose to use, modify, or remove the template based on your preferences.

A range of support options is available to meet your needs and schedule.

  • Custom department training sessions by request

  • Workshops and guided sessions

  • Drop-in working sessions (hands-on support)

  • One-on-one support

  • Tech Roadshow department visits
