Building an AI Career with a FinTech Foundation
Joshua Mason 鈥25 came to Elon with interests spanning economics, business and computer science. When the Financial Technology major launched in fall 2023, it brought those interests together, giving him a path to explore the intersection of technology and financial systems.
From mentoring students at a local middle school to interning with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Mason found that each experience reinforced his passion for using technology to help others.
“That passion of helping people and using technology to do that really inspired what I’m doing now,” Mason said.
Today, Mason owns FaithlineAI, where he combines his passions for artificial intelligence and technology with entrepreneurship. His work spans AI consulting, content creation, software development, marketing and client relations, helping small businesses implement practical AI solutions.
Mason credits Elon鈥檚 Financial Technology program, including project-based coursework and mentorship from professors Mustafa Akben and Thibaut Morillon, with helping him build a professional portfolio, found the Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Club and pursue his interests with confidence.
鈥淲hen you have smaller class sizes, the faculty are very intentional about nurturing you and helping you with the things you鈥檙e interested in,鈥 Mason said.
