From Scholarship to Success: A Finance Major鈥檚 Journey
Ava Rosen was only a preteen when her father died, leaving her worried she wouldn鈥檛 be able to afford college. 鈥淟osing my dad prompted all my career moves from the age of 11,鈥 she said.
Drawn to finance for its stability and potential for impact, Rosen found her path at Elon through the Business Fellows and Odyssey Scholars programs. 鈥淚 knew finance would both challenge me quantitatively and allow me to be a catalyst for change in a field where females are underrepresented.鈥
At Elon, Rosen gained hands-on experience through internships, supportive faculty and leadership opportunities. She also led a five-student team to the state title in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, where they presented to industry professionals.
Rosen graduated in 2023 and is now a risk analyst at Goldman Sachs. 鈥淓lon made me feel at home, and it provided me the resources to truly excel,鈥 she said. 鈥淔inance is much more than just banking. Find ways to leverage finance as a means to ignite change and make a difference in the world.鈥
