The Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life offers interactive educational workshops that help participants develop the knowledge and skills needed to engage across religious, spiritual, secular, and cultural differences.

Our programs are designed for students, faculty and staff departments, groups, and organizations seeking to create more inclusive environments where people of all identities and worldviews can thrive

BE Aware: Multifaith @ Elon 

Why do we say Elon is a multifaith campus, what does that mean, and why does it matter?

This workshop introduces the concepts of multifaith and interfaith to students, and through a presentation, interactive activities, and conversations, gives students more confidence to talk about and understand diverse religious, spiritual, and ethical identities and worldviews. Open conversation, when grounded in curiosity and mutual respect, is one of the most effective ways to dismantle identity-based bias.

BE Accountable: Faith, Identity and Belonging 

A religious-bias education & prevention workshop

Participants in this workship will develop a stronger understanding of religious bias and how it affects campus communities. Through discussion, reflection, and practical scenarios, we will build a shared vocabulary for recognizing bias, examine the histories and experiences of targeted religious communities, and explore ways to foster meaningful solidarity across differences.

BE Advocates: Meaningful Solidarity across Difference

Understanding anti-bias advocacy.

This workshop helps participants learn how to practice meaningful solidarity with others, and explore strategies to promote anti-bias and inclusion.

Interfaith Photovoice @ Elon

Using photos and stories to understand experiences and spark change

This interactive workshop invites participants to explore how identity, belief, values, and belonging shape their daily lives through images and storytelling. Rather than focusing on photography skills, this experience uses photographs as a starting point for reflection, dialogue, and deeper understanding. Participants practice approaching one another with curiosity, listening to lived experiences instead of assumptions, and discovering connections across religious, spiritual, secular, and cultural differences.

This workshop provides framing, education, and resources.

This workshop empowers religious and spiritual organizations and community groups to be more welcoming to LGBTQIA+ individuals.
