College Coffee

 Every Tuesday at 9:40am-10:20am on Phi Beta Kappa Commons

College Coffee is one of Elon’s oldest and most appreciated traditions. This weekly campus-wide event brings Elon faculty, staff, and students together to build community and develop friendships. College Coffee offers conversation in a relaxed atmosphere with snacks and beverages. We encourage you to invite a friend, colleague, mentor, professor, etc. and join us!

First Year Neighborhood Cookouts

August 26th at 6:00pm

Come out to greet your neighborhoods! Historic, East, Colonnades, and Global Neighborhood Welcome Cookouts are a delicious way to mingle in the community! Enjoy dinner with new friends, connect and re-connect with others, meet more residents in your neighborhood, and get introduced to your student staff, Residence Life staff, and the faculty who live in your neighborhood! Student Professional Development Center Open House

Join us for the Student Professional Development Center Open House to explore free career resources and services available to students and alumni, including career counseling, resume reviews, workshops, and more. Elon vs. Glenville State Football Game and Rhodes Run

August 27th at 7:00pm

Get ready to bring the energy as Elon Football kicks off the season against Glenville State! Don’t miss out on the best way to start the season with your fellow Phoenix fans! First Year students get to Run Rhodes ahead of the Elon Football team during the home opening football game. �þ��� will gather around the backside of the video board around 6:30 PM and will then get to run the length of the football field. Registration is required and will posted closer to date. Be there, be loud, and let’s show our Elon pride!

SUB PNT 1010

August 27th at 10:00pm-5:00pm in Winter Garden

At PNT 1010 students are able to build community and de-stress while expressing their creativity through painting! All supplies are provided; students can paint anything that they’d like on their canvases. Student Union Board (SUB) will provide example paintings and assistance to anyone that needs a little inspiration!

This week invites you to explore the organizations, traditions, and communities that can help you build your network and sense of belonging at Elon.

LNE x NPHC Back to School Bash

Late Night Elon (LNE) and the National Panhellenic Council (NPHC) are collaborating to host a Back to School Bash on Young Commons. This event will feature yard games, interactive vendors, and tons of fun! This is a great way to meet other students and learn more about the Historically Black Fraternities and Sororities on Elon’s campus. All students are welcome.

Fall 2026 Organization Fair

September 2nd at 5:00pm-8:00pm on Young Commons

The Fall Organization Fair is one of Elon’s most exciting campus traditions and the perfect opportunity to discover your place in the community. �þ��� can explore Elon’s active student organizations, meet new people, and connect with groups that match their interests and passions. “Find Your Place. SUB’s bingo is a monthly tradition that students won’t want to miss out on! We play 6-8 rounds of classic bingo, giving away great prizes for each round!

Planting for the Planet

September 4th at 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Elon Community Garden

Planting for the Planet is an annual event designed to create community among students (specifically first-years) who are interested in sustainability. Student leaders from environmentally-minded organizations (Sierra Student Coalition, Net Impact, Garden Club, etc) host tables where folks can learn about involvement opportunities and make connections in a more intimate setting that Student Org Fair. The Office of Sustainability provides pots, plant, and paint so that participants can enjoy painting and planting while meeting and chatting with like-minded individuals. �þ��� leave with their plant to brighten their living space, which also supports well-being through proven mental health benefits of indoor plants.

Rise Against Hunger

September 5th at 9:00am-10:00am and 11:00am-12:30pm in Alumni Gym

Sign-up for the annual 1-day Rise Against Hunger event in collaboration with the Kernodle Center for Civic Life. Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world. Each year our students package nearly 20,000 meals! Join us this year to package even more!

Party Smart with SPARKS and Phoenix Free

Looking for a refreshing, alcohol-free drink option? Stop by Party Smart Mocktails with SPARKS Peer Health Education, Phoenix Free, and Elon Dining! �þ��� can enjoy free mocktails while learning more about safer drinking strategies, harm reduction, and wellness resources. Whether you choose to drink or not, Party Smart is all about making informed decisions, staying safe, and looking out for yourself and others!

It’s All Greek to Me

Curious about joining a fraternity or sorority at Elon? Fraternity & Sorority Community 101 is a great place to start. This event will introduce you to the fraternities and sororities that make up the community at �þ��� and help you learn what membership looks like.

The event will begin with a brief presentation covering the structure of the community, the different councils and organizations, and how students can get involved. After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a tabling fair where chapters will be present to share information, answer questions, and connect with students interested in learning more.

Whether you are actively considering joining or just want to understand what fraternity and sorority life is all about, this event is a great way to meet members, ask questions, and find the organization that might be the right fit for you.

Trigg Watson: Magic for the Future

September 15th at 7:30pm-8:45pm in McCrary Theatre, Center for the Arts

Internationally recognized high-tech magician Trigg Watson will take the stage delivering a cutting-edge experience that blends technology, illusion and audience interaction. His tech-infused magic has been seen on TV shows Master of Illusion and Americas Got Talent, where he was a semifinalist. Known for his innovative approach to magic, Watson has built a reputation for creating impossible moments using tech devices like smartphones, televisions, robots and holograms. His show will have your questioning what’s possible and laughing along the way.

Admission: Tickets are $15 or free with valid Elon ID and available beginning August 25 at www.ElonTickets.com – this is helpful for new students to understand the box office/ticket procedure for events across campus.

The Fall Job and Internship Fair is your chance to connect with a wide variety of employers and explore career paths, internships, and full-time opportunities while building valuable professional relationships.

SUB Karaoke

September 17th at 10:00pm in Irazú

In classic karaoke night style, students are able to perform their favorite songs on stage or sing along with their friends. No singing is required, but this is a great low-stakes environment to try it out! SUB offers free coffee and snacks from Irazú to enjoy throughout the night.

SUB hosts their weekly SUBCinema showings in Turner Theatre. Snacks will be provided. Movie selection TBD. The same movie will be played Friday at 8 & 10:30pm and Saturday at 8pm.

Texas Guitar Quartet

September 21st at 7:30pm in Whitley Auditorium

Concert presented in support of �þ��� Hispanic Heritage Month. The Grammy-nominated Texas Guitar Quartet brings a rare blend of precision, warmth and joyful virtuosity to the concert stage. Formed in 2009, the ensemble has been praised by Classical Guitar Magazine as impeccable in every respect and has earned an international reputation for adventurous programming and polished, deeply engaging performances. The quartet has appeared across the United States, Central America, Spain, Mexico and China. The Elon program offers an evening of dazzling ensemble playing, expressive color, and the kind of intimate musical conversation that makes chamber music feel immediate, fresh and alive.

Protect Direct Pop-Up

September 23rd at 11:30am-1:30pm in SPARKS Office (Moseley 105 I)

Stop by the Protect Direct Pop-Up with SPARKS Peer Health Education to pick up free safer sex supplies and sexual health resources. �þ��� can also learn more about Protect Direct, Elon’s anonymous safer sex supply delivery program, which allows supplies to be delivered directly to their campus box. Protect Direct helps students access resources in a convenient, free, and confidential way.

This week is all about noticing what energizes you, where you feel connected, and how your experiences are coming together as you continue to navigate your time at Elon.

Join us for the annual Family Weekend Game Night! Casino dealers will be onsite to host games like Blackjack, Roulette, Money Wheel, Poker and more! Leave your money at home, you’ll be given house chips to play with at the door and have a chance to win great prizes!

Elon Common Reading Lecture

September 29th at 7:30pm in Alumni Gym

An acclaimed essayist, poet and cultural critic, Hanif Abdurraqib is widely recognized for his lyrical and deeply personal writing that explores music, identity and the intersections of culture and lived experience. His work blends criticism with memoir, offering readers a nuanced perspective of art, belonging and the forces that shape contemporary life. Abdurraqib is the author of several award-winning books and is known for his ability to connect cultural analysis with broader questions about race, community and memory. There’s Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension was selected as Elon’s Common Reading for 2026-27.

SAIL Week: Leadership Opportunities Fair

September 30th at 11:00am-1:00pm on Young Commons

Ready to get involved and make your mark at Elon? Explore campus leadership opportunities at the Leadership Opportunities Fair, where you can connect with student organizations, campus departments, and programs offering both paid and volunteer leadership roles. This event will take place on Wednesday, September 30, on Young Commons (rain location: Moseley 1st Floor Living Room). Whether you’re already leading or just beginning to explore your potential, this is your chance to discover the kind of leader you want to become.
