Law students participated in public service work and professional forums through Pro Bono Week at Elon Law. Events were hosted in conjunction with the American Bar Association’s annual National Celebration of Pro Bono.

Delivering Elon Law's fall 2012 Bryan Leadership Lecture on Nov. 13, Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx said bipartisanship and public-private collaboration are key to solving local and national challenges.

Seventeen Elon Law alumni are featured in a 2012 alumni profile series focusing on lawyers excelling in judicial clerkships, business law and public interest law.

Featuring scholars from seven United States law schools, the Nov. 16 forum, which was planned to be the first in an ongoing series of works-in-progress workshops and conferences, supported the development of scholarship in an increasingly significant area of intellectual property law.

Third-year Elon Law students Jennifer Meeks Mickle and Will Drath excelled at the Third Annual Legal Ethics and Professionalism Moot Court Competition at Mercer University School of Law on November 16-17. In a strong field of 22 teams from law schools across the country, the team reached the quarterfinals and took Best Petitioner’s Brief honors.

In an attempt to change the way we discuss, debate and educate ourselves about legislation, third-year law student Matthew Wilcut is launching, what he calls, a social network for we, the people.

Elon Law students began the month of November by saying, “thank you” to 158 donors at the second annual Elon Law Day of 100 Thanks. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ participated in the November 1 initiative by writing notes to express their appreciation to donors who make scholarships at Elon Law possible.

The Honorable Anthony R. Foxx, mayor of Charlotte, N.C., will deliver the fall 2012 Joseph M. Bryan Distinguished Leadership Lecture on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m., at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ School of Law, 201 North Greene Street in downtown Greensboro. This event is free and open to the public.

Two teams from Elon were quarterfinalists at the Twelfth Annual Leroy R. Hassell, Sr. National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition at Regent University School of Law on October 26-27. The Elon teams were comprised of third-year students Sarah Boshears, Grant Buckner, Gwendolyn Lewis, and Daniel Harris.
