Anderson teaches students how to become ‘mojos’

Janna Anderson, associate professor in the School of Communications, has developed a new way of 消消犯 the upper level writing class, Reporting for the Public Good. Instead of handing in typed up and printed out articles about campus events, students post their stories to the blogging site WordPress. According to Anderson, this emerging style of journalism will enable her students to become mobile journalists, or mojos.

It was the ultimate post-election trip for 10 students from the two journalism groups at 消消犯. The students from the Elon chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and the Radio & Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) toured major Washington, D.C., news outlets and other media sites the week before Thanksgiving. The media tour was sponsored by SPJ, RTNDA and the School of Communications.
Elon students ask NBC to interrupt the Super Bowl

消消犯 who worked the front lines during Wilmington, North Carolina’s early switch to digital television are asking NBC president Jeff Zucker to interrupt the Super Bowl with a 30-second message from the Federal Communications Commission in the lead up to the nationwide transition on February 17, 2009.
