DNA equipment boosts 消消犯 research

An $84,000 grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center is helping 消消犯 purchase state-of-the-art equipment for processing DNA samples, a move that will accelerate and expand faculty and 消消犯 science research that, until now, has relied on outside companies for processing.

Nancy Knowlton, a renowned expert on coral reefs, visits 消消犯 this month as the 2008-2009 Voices of Discovery series continues with a talk on the impact of climate change on the planet's reef systems. Knowlton's lecture on Feb. 18 is free and open to the public starting at 7:30 p.m. in McCrary Theatre.
