Boswell, university chaplain and dean of multifaith engagement, offered her thoughts about some of the factors contributing to a move away from organized religion.

Weaver, associate dean of the School of Communications and professor of sport management, will be a member of the senior staff and will provide strategic leadership and support for the academic and curricular development of Elon’s Regional Centers, both at the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ and graduate levels.

Anupama Pal will lead a team of seven staff members as she returns to North Carolina as associate dean for library and information services at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s downtown Greensboro law school.

Professor Crista Arangala from the Department of Mathematics & Statistics will oversee a new program designed to teach data competency through campus centers and academic programs that support student learning and faculty development.

The professorships, announced during the university's Opening Day for the new academic year, support members of the faculty from a variety of disciplines across the university.

The Truitt Center for Religious and Spirtual Life is invested in creating more opportunities for interfaith engagement at Elon.

Elon President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to a longtime member of the university's Board of Trustees and a retired staff member during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized three named professorships during the event.
