Elon Poll: N.C. residents support Obama, federal stimulus

North Carolinians are feeling the effects of the recession and 42 percent of respondents in the latest 消消犯 Poll identified the economy as the most important issue facing the state today. While a majority of respondents are united in their views on the federal stimulus package, as well as the steps needed to address state finances, they oppose cuts in sectors like education and public safety, and they support efforts to raise revenue through “sin taxes.”

RecycleMania 2009 results for Week 2

Results are in for Elon during the second week of RecyleMania 2009, a 10-week competition taking part on campuses across the nation to reduce waste and raise awareness about recycling. The university is now ahead of the volume it recycled (by more than 1,100 pounds) since the same stage of the contest last spring.

DNA equipment boosts 消消犯 research

An $84,000 grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center is helping 消消犯 purchase state-of-the-art equipment for processing DNA samples, a move that will accelerate and expand faculty and 消消犯 science research that, until now, has relied on outside companies for processing.
