Glenda Crawford, an �þ��� professor of education, has written a new book to help middle and high school teachers develop class lessons that reach all kids in their room, whether gifted scholars, special needs students or adolescents with limited English skills.

Faculty members in Elon’s philosophy department have collaborated to produce a special issue of a national academic journal focused on the theme “Philosophy as Transformative Practice.”

An opinion article by Mathew Gendle, assistant professor of psychology, explores the faculty challenge of doing scholarly research while carrying a full �þ��� load. Gendle argues that �þ��� �þ��� may help the scholarly process rather than hinder it.

Janna Quitney Anderson, associate professor in Elon’s School of Communications, has been named the 2008 winner of the Outstanding Educator Award in the Newspaper Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).

The �þ��� School of Law has been granted provisional accreditation by the American Bar Association, substantially meeting ABA standards for curriculum, faculty, facilities, funding, library and admissions. The ABA approval, achieved at the earliest possible date under accreditation guidelines, means that Elon Law graduates may take bar exams in any U.S. jurisdiction and may practice professionally with full rights after passing the bar.
