North Carolina Registration Repair

The Registration Repair Project is an effort by the North Carolina State Board of Elections to collect identification numbers from registered voters who do not have an N.C. driver’s license/DMV ID number or social security number in the state’s voter registration database. In August 2026, the State Board sent  to about 82,000 registered voters on the who had not yet provided the necessary information to election officials. If your name is on the list, complete one of these options:

  1. If you have an N.C. driver’s license or DMV ID number, you can use  to submit an updated voter registration form.
  2. Visit your county board of elections office, and they can help you ensure your registration is complete. You will want to bring your driver’s license or social security number.
