¡Celebremos!: Graduates Take Flight

¡Celebremos!: Graduates Take Flight is our annual stole ceremony dedicated to recognizing the efforts and successes of graduates who celebrate Latinx/Hispanic cultures and traditions.

This year’s ¡Celebremos!: Graduates Take Flight ceremony will take place Thursday, May 20th at 1PM in Lakeside, followed by a celebration in Medallion Plaza. 

If you’re a December 2026 or May 2027 Graduate, please fill out the two forms below.

  • The first form is for the Latinx/Hispanic stole you will receive during the ceremony designed by alum Nico Gaspar ’22. Seniors will have to pay $15 to reserve a stole. Payments can be made by credit card online or by cash brought directly to Sylvia Munoz, Director of CREDE (munozs@elon.edu) in Moseley 221 or to Amy Gutierrez-Luviano, Assistant Director of CREDE (agutierrezluviano@elon.edu) in Carlton 114. Please contact Sylvia if you have questions about payment. To reserve a stole, submit by March 20th, 2027.
  • In the second form, you will add your information and the paragraph for your “village”. During the stole ceremony, you will have the opportunity to thank your “village.” Your village can be anyone who has helped you along your journey through college: your parents, grandparents, friends, professors, mentors, etc. You will be asked to write a short letter thanking them (no more than 250 words). This letter will be read out loud during the ceremony in whatever language you choose to write it (English, Spanish, Portuguese). Submit the form at the end of the page by April 3rd, 2027 at 5:00 pm.

    These photos are a visual representation of "your village". They can also highlight a significant milestone throughout your journey to college graduation.
    You can write the letter in English, Spanish or Portuguese. We will translate to whichever language you did not write it in (we will have a program available with English/Spanish translations). NOTE: The form will support a maximum of 1,500 characters.
