Dialogue Opportunities
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Dialogue Experience Guides
Dialogue is a process that brings people together to share their perspectives and lived experiences around meaningful and sometimes challenging social issues. Through open and respectful conversation, participants are invited to explore different viewpoints, deepen understanding, and strengthen their ability to live, learn, and work collaboratively across difference.
At Elon, dialogue reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive community where every voice is valued, and learning extends beyond the classroom. It helps dispel stereotypes, cultivate empathy, and inspire both personal growth and collective action for a more just and connected world. Dialogue encourages participants to engage thoughtfully, challenge ideas without dismissing others’ beliefs, and build trust across diverse backgrounds.

Active Citizen Series: Deliberative Dialogue – America’s Next 250: What’s Next, America?
Monday, February 23, 4:30pm, Lakeside 212
2026 marks our nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This dialogue is one of many that will take place across the country this year, and is designed to bring people together to reflect on the past and discuss what kind of future we want to create for generations to come. Many Americans believe that the time is right for conversations that connect people who might not usually interact, conversations that will encourage fresh, innovative thinking and actions to emerge. Join this dialogue to help script the next 250 years of the United States. A Deliberative Dialogue is an opportunity for participants to gather and exchange diverse views and experiences to seek a shared understanding of a challenge facing our society and to search for common ground for action.

Better Together is the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life’s lunchtime dialogue program – a space for connection, conversation, and bridge-building, where participants reflect on this moment we are living in together. Better Together offers a facilitated conversation around a central theme, a chance to share perspectives and views, and to learn from others. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, faculty, and staff are invited to come to the table as you are – whether curious, reflective, or just hungry for lunch or community connections.
