Our Vision & Goal
The Women of Elon is an intergenerational network of Elon alumnae, parents, and friends, who come together to create community on campus and across the globe and support the most pressing needs of the university. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ is committed to creating space for this diverse, dynamic community of women to come together and make impactful change.
The Women of Elon initiative was born through a series of focus group conversations. In those conversations, women shared that they want:
- More opportunities to engage with the university
- More volunteer opportunities and clear pathways to leadership
- Donors at all levels to feel valued and appreciated
- Flexibility in how women come together to support Elon students.
Dream Statement
We are a diverse network of alumnae, parents, and friends dedicated to providing transformational support for each other and for Elon students. Together, we will grow an inclusive culture of connection and philanthropy and expand our impact on campus and beyond.
Collective Giving to Make an Impact
Women of Elon has always believed that when women come together with shared purpose, extraordinary things happen. From the very beginning, this initiative has been powered by a simple but powerful idea: collective generosity creates opportunities that no single gift could achieve alone. That belief has defined us — and it continues to carry us forward.
Celebrating Phase I: Exceeding Our Goal
In Phase I (2024–2026), Women of Elon set its sights on a challenge close to every member’s heart: making internships fully accessible to every Elon student who wants or needs one. The Women of Elon community answered with remarkable generosity, surpassing our original $2.5 million goal and raising nearly $2.7 million to expand need-based internship support. Because of this collective effort, more students than ever are able to pursue hands-on professional experiences without financial barriers standing in the way.

Looking Ahead: Phase II and the 5 Elon Experiences
Inspired by what we accomplished together, Women of Elon is proud to move into Phase II — and we’re bringing internships with us. Phase II pays tribute to the spirit of our founding goal by keeping internships as a continued area of focus, while expanding our collective impact to encompass all 5 Elon Experiences: Internships, Study Abroad, Undergraduate Research, Leadership, and Service.
These five experiences are at the heart of what makes an Elon education transformational. They shape students into curious, capable, and compassionate leaders — and Women of Elon is committed to ensuring that every student has the chance to access them. Through a collective effort of individual and group gifts, our goal is to raise $3.5 million in support of the 5 Elon Experiences by June 2029.
Philanthropy in Action:
The minimum gift commitment to establish an endowed internship fund at Elon is $50,000. This can be paid over five years and generates approximately $2,250 in annual support. During this initiative, women are encouraged to gather a group of friends and pool their resources to create a collective endowed internship fund. For more information about making an endowed gift, please contact Emily Majmudar at emajmudar@elon.edu.
For donors wanting to support the effort but not at the endowment level, annual gifts can be made to the Women of Elon fund. These gifts go directly to supporting Elon interns with current need. To make an annual gift to the Women of Elon fund, click the button below.
