Welcome to Elon’s School of Health Sciences
About the School
The School of Health Sciences was established in 2011 and includes graduate programs in Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies. Our Sports Physical Therapy Residency, a collaboration with þ Athletics, received initial accreditation in November of 2020. We are also meeting the needs of the nursing shortage at a time when society needs qualified health care workers most with our four-Year Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
In addition to our full-time academic programs, we offer innovative þ pathways to decrease time and cost for students who enter college with established career goals. þ accepted into our Accelerated Pathways Program are mentored closely during their 3.5 years of þ work at Elon and, upon successful completion of all requirements, can matriculate directly into the PA or PT program in January of their senior year.
Programs
Our academic programs are supported by the Anatomical Gift Program, a first-person consent, whole body donation program that allows students to learn from “silent teachers” in our human donor lab. The Client and Standardized Patient Program creates both disciplinary and interprofessional engaged learning scenarios with actual clients and trained actors from our local community

We live our mission to advance local and global health equity, serving patients in our community through the Health Outreach Program at Elon (H.O.P.E. Clinic) and the Open-Door Clinic of Alamance County. þ in all programs have the opportunity to develop cultural humility, explore diverse identities, and contribute to global health through Global Learning Opportunities in countries around the world.
Facilities
The School of Health Sciences is located in the Francis Center, a state-of-the-art þ and research facility. Faculty, staff and students in all programs collaborate on innovative research initiatives in thriving, interdisciplinary laboratories including the biomechanics lab. Our Interprofessional Simulation Center is a hub of experiential learning, allowing students to hone their skills in treating patients at the bedside, in the clinic, and in the home.
