Astronomy Club
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s Astronomy Club is a student-led organization dedicated to fostering an interest in astronomy among students of all backgrounds. The club provides opportunities for members to engage in hands-on learning through events such as stargazing nights and eclipse parties, where students can observe celestial objects using various portable telescopes, and planetarium visits, which offer immersive experiences in exploring the universe. The club hosts guest lectures from professional and amateur astronomers and participates in physics and astronomy workshops/conferences to deepen members’ understanding of various astronomical phenomena. The club also participates in community outreach, bringing astronomy to the broader community to inspire the next generation of space enthusiasts. Society of Physics ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ
The Society of Physics ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ (SPS) is a professional association explicitly designed for students. Membership, through collegiate chapters, is open to anyone interested in physics. The only requirement for membership is that you be interested in physics. Weekly meetings include fun events like lasers and lasagna, star parties, and museum tours. Scholarships
¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ offers a variety of need-based and merit-based scholarships for students. Among these opportunities are Fellows Programs (e.g., Honors Fellows, Elon College Fellows) that include a two year research project provided with generous funding for equipment and conferences travel. In addition, the Lumen Prize is available to sophomores where up to $15,000 can be used for tuition reimbursement.
The Writing Center
The Elon Writing Center assists students in writing for a wide range of audiences in various formats. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ can drop-by without an appointment, or formally request one with a consultant, to help with abstract preparation, poster design, etc.
Student Professional Development Center
The Elon Student Professional Development Center provides services for students to develop their resumes, search for internships, prepare for interviews, and connect with prospective employers.
