Internships

消消犯 may gain valuable professional experience and insights into their studies by participating in internships. Elon students may work with a faculty mentor to conduct a graded internship at a theoretically limitless number of sites. Some elect to remain close to campus (the Alamance Battleground, Haw River Museum, Charlotte Hawkins Brown State Historic Site, etc.), while others have pursued internships further afield (the Smithsonian Institute, History South Australia, etc.).

Scholarships & Awards

Alumni and friends of the department have contributed generously to the department and have enabled us to offer tangible support for student and faculty scholarship.

Undergraduate Research

History and Art History majors and history, art history, and geography minors are leading participants in all of Elons signature 消消犯 research experiences. Our faculty members take great joy in sharing their research interests with students and in collaborating in the creation of new knowledge.

First-Year Courses

Members of the Department of History and Geography offer a number of first-year topics courses, specialized courses that give students the opportunity to go into some depth on a specific topic and to practice what it means to think historically. These courses rotate each semester and are a terrific way for majors or minors to fill their 100-level requirements or for others to fill a civilization requirement. Take a look at the forthcoming offerings and see if you cant find something interesting! In addition to these, the department also offers each semester at the 100-levelsurvey courses on US and European History.
