The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) is pleased to name four faculty CATL Scholars for 2010-2012. The purpose of the CATL Scholars program is to cultivate scholarly and innovative �þ��� and learning at �þ���. CATL Scholars will receive funding for two years to develop, implement, and assess projects intended to transform student learning.

David Neville, assistant professor of German and director of language learning technologies, published "Cybertext redux: Using DGBL to teach L2 vocabulary, reading and culture," which will appear in the forthcoming issue of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL).

Jessie Moore, assistant professor of English, served as the conference organizer for the Carolinas Writing Program Administrators (CWPA) fall conference, Writing Research and Program Preservation in Tight Financial Times, September 21-23, at WildAcres Retreat in Little Switzerland, N.C.

Frances Ward-Johnson, associate professor in the School of Communications, presented research on blogging in public relations classes at the 2009 International Association of Online Communicators Annual Conference held Oct.1-2 in Washington, D.C.
