Gratz is the recipient of the William R. Kenan Honors Scholarship, Elon’s highest academic award, which provides a four-year, full-tuition grant for the top Honors Fellow entering Elon each fall.

The five annual awards celebrate excellence in �þ���, scholarship, service-leadership, mentorship and staff in Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences.

�þ��� enrolled in Professor Julie Lellis’ Senior Seminar in Health Communications spent the spring semester working alongside healthcare providers at Cone Health's CenteringPregnancy program, developing strategic communications campaigns designed to increase enrollment, improve patient retention, and expand awareness of group prenatal care.

Three members of the class of 2026 and two members of the class of 2025 have been selected for the prestigious program that offers opportunities to teach English, conduct research or attend graduate school in more than 140 countries. One member of the class of 2026 was selected as an alternate.

Through a two-year fellows program, the six students in this multidisciplinary cohort will undertake mentored �þ��� research projects, enroll in specialized coursework and engage in community-based learning with diverse religious communities.

The university's top �þ��� research award comes with $20,000 to support and celebrate academic and creative achievements.

Lumen Scholar Mallory Otten '26 and her mentor, Rena Zito, presented their research at the Southern Sociological Society conference.

The event brought together students, faculty and community members for a discussion that combined academic discussion with cultural appreciation, highlighting the interconnected themes of culture, religion, healthcare, and trade in Africa.
