Elon has been named one of the nation's top universities in a PARADE magazine survey of high school guidance counselors across the country.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ faculty and staff learned more about long-term plans for diversity and global engagement, residential life and academic programs in three presentations during the opening ceremony for Planning Week 2010, the official start of the academic year for university employees.

Elon’s ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Shop has launched a textbook rental program that can save students and their families more than 50 percent over a new book purchase. Nearly a third of all titles in the bookstore will be available for rent during the fall 2010 semester – and, yes, students can feel free to highlight passages and write in the margins.

Online registration for Family Weekend events opened Aug. 2 at noon.

The ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Board of Trustees elected three new members at its spring meeting. W. Eric Hinshaw of Durham, N.C., Dalton L. (Mac) McMichael Jr. of Stoneville, N.C., and James K. Sankey of Charlotte, N.C., will join the board at its fall meeting, Oct. 22-23.
