Service opportunities, gatherings and other special programs at Elon during January will commemorate the legacy of the late civil rights leader.

Members of the Black Law ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Association and their families commemorated the achievements of graduating students who recognize their African roots in a cultural ceremony the day before Commencement for Elon Law’s Class of December 2017.

David S. Levine joined the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ School of Law faculty in 2009 and quickly forged an international reputation for his legal research into the areas of lawmaking, trade secrecy, and the ways in which corporations and governments use the law to control access to intellectual property.

The David Gergen Award for Leadership & Professionalism, bestowed annually at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ School of Law’s Commencement, recognizes one student in each graduating class for embodying the highest levels of selfless leadership and service.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ in the Class of December 2017 and their families celebrated outstanding academic performance, pro bono work, and service to the law school in a ceremony on the eve of their graduation from Elon Law's highly experiential 2.5-year program.

When Joleen Parks graduates on Saturday in the first class to complete Elon Law's new 2.5-year program, it will be her next chapter in a life radically changed five years ago in the skies over North Carolina.

Elon Law, in coordination with the Legal Writing Institute, hosted a One-Day Workshop in December for regional law professors and practitioners who visited downtown Greensboro for a program that was part of a nationwide series.
