After nearly a decade as a law librarian for public services at Fordham University’s law school, Kathleen McLeod comes to Elon with a ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ background in advanced legal research, having also served there as an adjunct professor.

Registration for first-year Elon Law students begins Aug. 7, with orientation activities beginning on Friday, Aug. 8.

Catherine Wasson comes to Elon after working for the past decade at Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pa., most recently as an associate professor and director of the Legal Methods Program.

Editor Justin Catanoso says ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ School of Law Dean Leary Davis "has the energetic, detail-oriented soul of an entrepreneur," and calls him "one of the legends in legal education" in North Carolina. Davis steps down as dean Aug. 1, but Catanoso notes his continued role in shaping the school's curriculum and focus on leadership.

A $500,000 gift from Maurice Jennings Sr. ’57 and his wife, Linda, and Maurice “Burney” Jennings Jr. ’87 and his wife, Dina '87, will establish an endowed professorship at the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ School of Law. The gift includes an estate gift from Burney Jennings, an Elon trustee.
