Elaine R. Jones, who served as the first woman president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund from 1993 to 2004 and championed a number of groundbreaking civil rights cases over a career spanning three decades, will deliver the keynote address at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ School of Law's third annual Martin Luther King, Jr. forum on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the law library.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ professors, students and alumni made regional and national news in recent weeks through their research and activities, both on and off campus. Notable in December and early January was media coverage of the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ School of Law's Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic and the announcement by university leaders of a decision to locate the new physician assistant program on main campus.

David Gergen, prominent political commentator, former presidential adviser and chair of Elon Law's advisory board, features a posting on his "David Gergen's Voice" blog about the revitalization of downtown Greensboro, N.C. The piece, by Gergen's son Christopher, describes the role that Elon Law and other foundation-supported initiatives have played in the city's economic transformation.
