Preet Bharara served as the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan from 2009-2017, and during his visit to North Carolina to deliver Elon Law’s 2019-20 Distinguished Leadership Lecture, he underscored the need to hold people in power accountable for their crimes, which leads to a stronger democracy.

Assistant Professor Taleed El-Sabawi took part this fall in a New York University School of Law conference focused on legal and regulatory impacts of the nation’s ongoing opioid health crisis.

The Elon Law Review’s 2019 Symposium on Judicial Independence brought to Greensboro some of the nation’s leading experts on the American court system, with keynote remarks by a Yale Law scholar who favors keeping the U.S. Supreme Court at nine justices while reconfiguring the way they are appointed and help decide cases.

Ashley Jay Elizabeth Poling L'13 was sworn in last month as a commissioner of the Postal Regulatory Commission, an independent agency that provides regulatory oversight over the United States Postal Service.

Twenty-five students in the Class of 2020 will help guide the school's moot court program over the next year by participating in upcoming national contests and coordinating Elon Law's own national moot court competition.
