Husser offered his insights in the controversy surrounding the 9th District Congressional race in North Carolina for the nightly national FOX News program. 

The lesson is featured in the January 2019 issue of the journal Science and Children and focuses on problem-based learning (PBL) in the elementary science classroom.

Model United Nations (MUN) at Elon is an academic club and a class, where students work together to simulate the United Nations Security Council on and off campus. Elon’s MUN is a student-administered club, with a faculty advisor overseeing its activities.

"Efficacy of Misoprostol Alone for First-Trimester Medical Abortion: A Systematic Review" was electronically published ahead of print on Dec. 4, 2018, in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology.

"Challenging Audiences to Listen: The Performance of Self-Disclosure in Community Writing Projects” by Assistant Professor of English Heather Lindenman and Justin Lohr of the University of Maryland was published in the Fall 2018 issue of the Community Literacy Journal.

The asssistant professor of biology is a co-investigator on a project titled "The new buzz: AI-powered acoustic monitoring of insect communities to advance conservation of tropical rainforests," being funded by the National Geographic Society (NGS) and Microsoft. 

The grant was awarded through the "Combating Opioid Overdose through Community-Level Intervention" (COOCLI) program of the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy to evaluate harm reduction services in rural areas of North Carolina.
