Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences held its annual grants reception in recognition of faculty who pursued or received external grant funding. The recognition celebrated grant work from summer 2024 through summer 2025.

While Braetan Peters ‘26 was enjoying the scenery during a Grand Canyon rafting trip, she was missing the comfort of her cell phone. Now, she’s turning that experience into her Elon College Fellows research, studying the connections people have with their devices.

In “Grievous Entanglement: Consumption, Connection, and Slavery in the Atlantic World,” Associate Professor Erin Pearson examines how people in the late 18th and 19th centuries understood consumption as implicating them in slavery.

When the senior dance science major from Texas encountered obstacles in pursuit of an internship in dance/movement therapy, she took matters into her own hands.

Adjunct Instructor Jiwon Ha will choreograph a performance at the Mainstage concert on Saturday, Oct. 18. Associate Professor of Dance Jen Guy Metcalf and Elon students will perform a piece on Nov. 7.

An Oct. 10 awards ceremony hosted by Elon College, the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, recognized the professional achievements of three distinguished university graduates.

The co-edited project includes contributions from 13 authors on changing practices in India and beyond. Amy Allocco also contributed a chapter to the collection and co-authored the book’s Introduction.
