Hundreds of first-year and transfer students took part in a “Stop Hunger Now” meal-packing event on Aug. 30, 2014, organized by ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Kitchen at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ.

An accomplished scholar of Hindu-Christian encounters and religion in India, Professor Brian Pennington will oversee university support of faculty and ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ research projects that seek answers to intellectual questions about religion in today’s world.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ professors and students filled McKinnon Hall on Aug. 27, 2014, to discuss race, privilege and justice following the Missouri police shooting death of an unarmed black man and subsequent protests that have galvanized the nation.

A Wednesday ribbon cutting and open house in Mooney building gave faculty, staff, family and friends an opportunity to tour the new home of four ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ programs that collectively serve underrepresented students from pre-kindergarten through college.

Enjoy refreshments and a stimulating panel discussion on the needs, challenges and opportunities for resettlement and adjustment of new refugees and immigrants in North Carolina.

Scholars created service projects and traveled to the nation's capital this summer as they sought solutions to barriers faced by underrepresented and underserved students who dream of attending college.

Rising seniors Krystal Lanclos and Ashley Rose are spending the summer in Newark, New Jersey, to teach in the urban classrooms of a regional nonprofit charter school operator.
