Prudence Layne named visiting fellow at Bader International Studies Institute

Prudence Layne, an assistant professor of English and coordinator of African/African-American Studies at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, has been named one of four Visiting Fellows this summer at the Bader International Studies Institute at Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex, England, to teach a postcolonial Shakespeare class with field studies components.

BET’s Jeff Johnson speaks on diversity and leadership

“Diversity” has become a buzzword on college campuses that misses a larger point, said activist and BET personality Jeff Johnson, who visited campus Saturday for ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s inaugural Diversity Leadership Conference. More should be done to foster greater community, he said, and responsibility for that rests with student leaders.
