Sang Nam, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, presented at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ's Diversity Leadership Conference April 9-10 in a session titled "Understanding Diversity: What does it mean to be Asian-American?"

Three faculty members in the School of Communications were recognized for their outstanding work this academic year during the spring Advisory Board luncheon April 9.

A 2009 ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ alumna will have a documentary she produced as a student broadcast this month on One Africa TV. Erin Barnett's film, "My Name is Anita," introduces viewers to Anita Isaacs, a former Periclean-in-Residence at Elon and an HIV/AIDS activist in Namibia.

Elon's School of Communications has been named the 2010 recipient of the national Equity and Diversity Award by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).

The School of Communications on Wednesday announced the appointments of two associate deans, with associate professors Don Grady and Kenn Gaither assuming their new responsibilities on June 1. Associate professor Jessica Gisclair will succeed Grady as the school’s department chair.

Jessica Gisclair, the associate department chair in the School of Communications, presented her paper "Prescribed ethics: Media coverage of an Olympic sprinter" at the 2010 Joint Conference of the National Popular Culture and American Culture Associations on April 2 in St. Louis, Mo.

Ross Wade, assistant director of career services for the School of Communications, has been elected to the North Carolina Career Development Association Executive Board for the 2010-2011 term.
