Join Elon political scientists two days after the election to discuss the policy implications of a new United States Congress.

Charlie Cook, one of the nation’s most respected political commentators, told an ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ audience Wednesday that historical and demographic trends favor a Republican takeover of the U.S. Senate this fall - but the GOP shouldn’t be too giddy as 2016 looks to be a blessing for Democrats.

One of the nation's top political analysts visits ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ on Wednesday to offer election season insight and reflections on the forces shaping American governance. The event is free and open to the public.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ professors and students filled McKinnon Hall on Aug. 27, 2014, to discuss race, privilege and justice following the Missouri police shooting death of an unarmed black man and subsequent protests that have galvanized the nation.

¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. organized students, faculty and staff Tuesday for a group portrait at College Coffee to raise awareness of police shootings and controversial law enforcement practices across the United States.

A Wednesday program in McKinnon Hall will offer the campus community reflections from ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ faculty and a current student from Ferguson, Missouri, about the recent police shooting death there of a young unarmed black man.

The first ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Poll of the fall semester will ask residents of North Carolina about their opinions on various social, economic and political issues.  

The assistant professor of political science and assistant director of the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Poll was a program guest on Friday, July 18, 2014.

With President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley in attendance, the North Carolina Senate recognized ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ on July 2, 2014, in a special statement commending the school for its accomplishments and contributions to the world.
