A professor’s encouragement helped Christian Seitz ’16 discover a passion for chemistry that ultimately led him to global vaccine research. Now working through the University of Chicago, Seitz studies viruses identified by the World Health Organization as potential pandemic threats in an effort to help prevent future global outbreaks.

Following a year and a half collaborative process that involved faculty from across the college, the new statement was shared at the college’s recent spring faculty meeting.

Eleven Elon seniors and alumni have been named semifinalists for The Fulbright U.S. Student Program: the largest educational exchange program in the world that offers research, study and ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ opportunities to recent graduates in more than 140 countries, with approximately 2,000 grants awarded annually in all fields of study.

Faculty, staff, students and educational developers from Elon, Warwick, Leeds and partner universities will explore critical questions in higher education through a six-session virtual collaboration beginning in February.

An Oct. 10 awards ceremony hosted by Elon College, the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, recognized the professional achievements of three distinguished university graduates.

From physics to performing arts, several new faculty members will teach, mentor, and conduct research beginning this academic year within Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences.
