The university was selected for the list from a pool of more than 800 schools and recognized for its sustainability-related policies, practices and programs.

Taylor Black was hired this summer to ramp up food production at Loy Farm in coordination with Harvest Table Culinary Group at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ

The demonstration, which served as the opening of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Sustainability Week at Elon, showed how much of the campus' landfill waste could actually be recycled or composted.

The Sept. 24 event is co-sponsored by Elon's Center for Environmental Studies and the Cape Fear River Assembly.

Angyal, professor emeritus of English and environmental studies, co-authored the biography of Berry, a Catholic priest and cultural historian who focused his scholarship on the evolution of the universe and humanity’s place within it.

This forum is co-sponsored by the Cape Fear River Assembly and the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Center for Environmental Studies and seeks to promote discussion and understanding of regional water issues.

A member of Ojibwe tribe who lives on the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota, LaDuke is the co-founder and program director for Honor the Earth, and spoke at Elon at the invitation of the Liberal Arts Forum.
