Elizabeth “Liz” Kwon L’23 will be the first alumna of an Elon graduate program to serve a two-year term on the governing board that advances the university’s mission by overseeing its health, strategic direction, educational policy, and finances and operations.

The trustee and philanthropist named Sankey Hall on Elon’s campus in honor of his father.

Elizabeth Shum ‘27 is gaining professional experience with her first internship at the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. It’s an invaluable opportunity early in her Elon career, hosted by The Fund for American Studies, and funded by the 2024 DeJoy-Woś Scholarship.

Allen was given the Elon Medallion during a ceremony on Friday, April 19, that also included naming a residence hall in the Colonnades Neighborhood after him.

Elon President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to a longtime member of the university's Board of Trustees and a retired staff member during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized three named professorships during the event.

The 2023 Elon graduate from Walnut Cove, N.C., will serve a two-year term on the �þ��� Board of Trustees.

The longtime trustee and Alamance County community leader passed away on May 5, 2023.

Means is currently an associate professor at University of Pittsburgh's School of Education and has a goal to build networks that focus on addressing racial, class, spatial inequities and injustices in education.

Selected to serve four-year terms as trustees on the board are Patricia Chadwick P’16, Kelli Palmer ‘98, Lee Williams and John Replogle P’18, P’25.

The new three-year endowed professorship will recognize an Elon faculty member for excellence in �þ��� and support their promotion of �þ��� �þ��� excellence at the university.
