A new study in the Journal of College Science Teaching provides and validates a rubric to help science instructors identify incremental progress in non-majors’ development of reflection skills during a single course or other short-term experience.

The article, published in Virus Genes, shares findings from a two-year ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ research project led by Charlotte Dagli ’25 that identified viruses with enhanced oncolytic potential, or the ability to selectively infect and kill cancer cells, against fibrosarcoma.

Jonathan Weaver ’26 came to Elon intending to go into finance, but through exploration and faculty mentorship, the graduating senior is now headed to dental school at The Ohio State University.

The Rivera-Serrano lab in the Biology Department attended the 18th annual Southeastern Regional Virology Conference (SERVC), held April 24–26 in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference brought together virology researchers and trainees from across the region to share new findings, build professional connections and discuss advances in the study of viruses and viral diseases.
