Join the Gender & LGBTQIA Center and the Elon LGBTQIA Alumni Network for an inspiring celebration of love, family, and storytelling as alumni authors Jeffrey and Corddarryl Williamson-Rose share their children’s book "We Love You ForAva." The book is a powerful reflection on LGBTQIA family-building and the beauty of inclusive stories.

Inspired by her sister’s recovery, Carmencita Rosales ’20 discovered her passion for storytelling at Elon and turned it into a thriving career as a bilingual journalist and TV host. From launching WSOE’s first Spanish-language show to creating Tu Cita con Carmencita, she brings energy, resilience and representation to every story she tells.

Guided by curiosity and a passion for storytelling, Lillian Engel ’19 turned her love of editing at Elon into a thriving Hollywood career. From campus projects to major films like "Extraction" and "Joker: Folie à Deux," she embodies the power of hands-on learning, persistence and community.

Elon’s “deep sense of commitment” to student success inspired Trustee Debra Del Vecchio P’22 P’24 to generously contribute to the center that will integrate academics, wellness, campus recreation and fitness programs to ensure students gain the skills they need to thrive on campus and beyond.

At the nation’s largest college media convention, held this fall in Washington, D.C., Elon journalism students earned multiple honors recognizing their reporting and creative work.

In between concerts and tailgating and a tough-fought football match, Elon alumni who returned to their alma mater for 2025 Homecoming shared some of the best advice they received from mentors in college that still helps guide them today.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebration during Homecoming Weekend, the School of Communications honored Wilson for her accomplishments as a showrunner and writer in Hollywood. The milestone event also reflected on the school’s transformation over 25 years – from its early beginnings to a nationally respected program known for producing industry-ready graduates.

The gift from Ilene and Andy Cantos P’25 will strengthen Jewish Life on campus by providing valuable funding for internships, student scholarships, facilities and programs.
