RecycleMania returns to Elon this month for the university’s third year taking part in a national recycling competition involving hundreds of college and universities. Leaders hope to surpass the nearly 54 tons of recyclable materials collected last spring on campus during the contest.

Thirty-eight students enrolled Jan. 5, 2009, in the DPT program in the Department of Physical Therapy Education. Their enrollment marks Elon’s seventh class of DPT students.

New Voices, the national Jewish student magazine, included Elon in a Nov. 24 article about the boom in Jewish student enrollment at Southern colleges and universities. The story mentions Elon, Vanderbilt University, Millsaps College, and the University of Charleston as schools that are experiencing rapid Jewish enrollment growth.

Issues in Political Economy, an ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ research journal co-published by ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, where several students have used the annual publication as a springboard to graduate studies in some of the nation’s premiere economic programs.

Inside Higher Ed, an online daily news source covering American colleges and universities, reported Dec. 2 on ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s efforts in recent years to increase the total number and percentage of faculty in tenure or tenure-track positions.
