The Emmy Award-winning journalist and on-air talent at Univision Network in Miami has been named co-anchor of the late evening edition of its national newscast, “Noticiero Univision Edición Nocturna.”

The worldwide Elon community is invited to wear maroon and gold, make gifts and spread the word about Elon Day on social media.

The Janet M. Cope Scholarship in Physical Therapy will go toward Elon Physical Therapy students who have displayed honorable character during their time in the program. 

During the largest fundraising campaign in Elon history, donors provided funding for hundreds of new scholarships, access to engaged learning programs, faculty and staff mentors and Elon’s iconic campus.

The Elon LEADS Campaign made stops in five cities this fall, bringing together alumni, parents and friends across the nation to hear about the profound impact donors to the campaign have made on Elon students and the future of the university.

President Connie Book and Elon LEADS Campaign co-chairs Christian Wiggins ’03, Priscilla Awkard ’95, Maity Interiano ’07 and Jack McMackin ’08 share the historic impact of the largest campaign in the university’s history. There's still time to make a difference in the campaign. Elon LEADS ends on Dec. 31, 2022.

Turnage created the fund in collaboration with retired Professor Laura Roselle to help further the study of political communication and media literacy, with grants supporting speakers, research and dialogue at Elon.

The scholarship established by Elon parents Dave and Suzanne Lissy P’24 through the Lissy Family Foundation will help recruit outstanding students who will become graduates the world needs. The couple’s gift is part of the Elon LEADS Campaign, which concludes Dec. 31, 2022.
