The 18th World Congress of the International Association of Buddhist Studies was hosted by the University of Toronto in August. 

Stop by the Center for Writing Excellence's Open House on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. The center is located on the first floor of Belk Library. There will be games and free ice cream!

English and Writing Studies faculty Jennifer Zinchuk and Paula Patch presented at the Council of Writing Program Administrators Conference in Knoxville in July.

The North Carolina Brass Band will present a program of Latin Music on Sept. 22 and 23.

Assistant Professor Heather Scavone, director of Elon Law's Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic, shared insights with news outlets on Sept. 5, 2017, that covered changes to the immigration policy known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.   

Faculty members will attend the keynote lecture by Professor Cheryl Lynn of Trinity College. 

"The Double Life of Law Schools" by Elon Law Professor Steve Friedland and Ian Holloway of the University of Calgary will appear in a forthcoming issue of the Case Western Reserve Law Review.

Jeffrey Carpenter, associate professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program, co-authored the article in the peer-reviewed journal Teaching and Teacher Education.

Rena Zito, assistant professor of sociology, examined how gendered employment dynamics influence coercion and physical violence in intimate relationships.
