This session wil be useful for anyone interested in ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ with "Making Your Home Among Strangers" or communicating with students about the book. Come share ideas or find inspiration in your colleagues. Instructors of COR 110, ENG 110, Elon 101, MTH 110, and other first-year courses are especially encouraged to attend.

Lunch will be provided for faculty and staff members who RSVP by Thursday, Aug. 18. 

Intended Audience: Designed for all faculty and staff working with first-year students, but open to all members of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ

New faculty will meet with the president, the provost and with experienced Elon faculty to learn more about ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ and thriving at Elon and to prepare for the start of the academic year. The new faculty orientation program is facilitated by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning; more details are online at .

Intended Audience: All full-time faculty who are new to Elon this academic year.

This meeting is for all faculty who will be ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ ENG 110 Writing: Argument and Inquiry during the 2017-18 academic year.

The faculty of COR interdisciplinary capstone seminars will participate in an organizational meeting, including conversation about different capstone projects being used and other pedagogies for integrating learning.  

Intended Audience: All faculty ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ COR capstone seminars during 2017-18 (and others who would like to attend).

On Monday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., first-year and transfer students will meet in small groups with a faculty member to talk about their academic responsibilities for learning at Elon. This session will allow faculty to discuss the event and to share ideas.

Intended Audience: Faculty who will be leading Engaged Learning Sessions, especially those leading for the first time

Community members will pick up glasses at the community picnic suitable for viewing the partial eclipse.
