Raul G. Barcenes will guest conduct the 67th Quad State Senior High School Honor Band in Murray, Ky., on Feb. 20-22, 2014.

The Association for Business Communication presented the associate professor of English with two awards during its recent conference in New Orleans.

A childhood literacy initiative at ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ will add a summer reading camp to its list of programs for boys and girls in the local community who encounter trouble learning to read.

The assistant professor in the School of Education has been selected by Phi Delta Kappa International as a part of its 2013-2014 cohort of Emerging Leaders.

The award includes a film set and $1,200 programming stipend to be used to provide scholarly presentations and exhibit four documentaries with new footage illustrating the history of civil rights in America.

Professor of Music Thomas Erdmann is included in a new book profiling trumpet greats from 1542 until the present day. 

The article, first published in the Journal of College Science Teaching in 2012, was a finalist in the 2013 Association of Educational Publishers Distinguished Achievement Awards. 

The assistant professor in the School of Communications was recognized with the "SuPRstar" honor for her ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ accomplishments and contributions to the public relations profession.

The $2,000 award supports a service-learning course involving sixth graders from Western Alamance Middle School.
