To further strengthen Elon's student-centered learning environment, the School of Communications faculty and leadership decided to move to a new format with six ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ programs on June 1.

In their new study, Assistant Professors Sana Haq and Jane O’Boyle examined thousands of posts to understand the contents of international Twitter comments and photos, comparing materials from six different countries.

“Waiting in the Midfield” highlights the life of Omar Alhamwi, a Syrian refugee and former professional soccer player, as he makes a new life for himself in Greensboro. The film will air on Wednesday, May 29, at 9 p.m., with replays the following day.

The associate professor of communications will be one of nine participants in the 2019-20 Institute for Diverse Leadership program of AEJMC and ASJMC, two preeminent associations in the field of mass communication.

The Elon graduate and former news director of “Elon Local News” is one of 10 reporters and producers selected for NBC News’ political embed reporting class, an assignment that will run through Election Day 2020.

During their annual capstone exhibition, held on May 21 in Long Building,  graduate students in ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s Interactive Media master's program presented the work they've completed this semester to professionals, faculty and staff, family and friends.

This semester’s edition marks the 19th in the history of the Elon Journal, the nation’s first and only ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ research journal in communications.

Elon alumna Shelby McKay ’13, senior academic advisor at George Washington University, provided a keynote address at the May 7 awards ceremony, highlighting her professional path and the influence of Elon’s community, while also sharing words of wisdom with the soon-to-be graduates.
