It is an easy job and you will learn a lot about what it is like to live in poverty. 

As a volunteer we need you to attend a training from 3:30 to 4:30 this Friday, November 14, and then be there on Dec. 5 from 2:30-5:30 p.m.

Interested in coordinating the Cambodia Service Trip? /u/news/2008/09/17/interested-in-coordinating-the-cambodia-service-trip/ Wed, 17 Sep 2008 18:03:00 +0000 /u/news/2008/09/17/interested-in-coordinating-the-cambodia-service-trip/ The Cambodia Service Trip is looking for new coordinators to plan and lead this year’s trip.

The goal of this trip to help students understand the cultural context of Cambodia as it applies to service.  Most of the service that will be performed will be building projects related to human rights organizations.  Topics that will be covered will be the affects of and poverty as well as a study of the 1970s genocide.

Awareness Team is hiring new coordinators for Poverty Awareness, Student Global AIDS Campaign and Amnesty International.

Poverty Awareness Coordinators are responsible for leading poverty simulations for classes and other groups of students. The goal is to break the stereotypes of poverty and inform students about ways they can get involved in the Burlington and Elon community.

Student Global AIDS Campaign Coordinators are responsible for leading the group as well as planning campus wide awareness events.  Student Global AIDS Campaign’s mission is to break the stereotypes of HIV/AIDS and help teach students about ways to protect themselves.

Amnesty International Coordinators are responsible for the leading Elon’s chapter as well as planning campus awareness events. Amnesty’s mission is to end human rights violations through awareness and advocacy.

Amnesty International Coordinator Needed /u/news/2007/12/06/amnesty-international-coordinator-needed/ Thu, 06 Dec 2007 18:59:00 +0000 /u/news/2007/12/06/amnesty-international-coordinator-needed/ EV! is looking for a new coordinator for Elon’s chapter of Amnesty International.  This position would include working with a co-coordinator and awareness team to hold weekly meetings with organization members and plan awareness activities on campus.  This position allows for an opportunity to develop leadership skills and help educate Elon about human rights through awareness and advocacy.  The position requires approximately 5 hours a week.
