Elon Roller Hockey Wins Regional Title

For the 3rd straight year Elon’s Roller Hockey Team is heading to the national NCRHA tournament. This year the team qualified after walking through the playoffs, outscoring their opponents 36-3 in 3 games. The team thanks everyone in SGA and �þ�� Rec for their support and hope to improve upon last year’s Elite 8 placing.

Elon Hockey Goes 4-0 in Regular Season Events

Elon’s Roller Hockey Team posted another 4-0 mark over the weekend, bringing the Spring Semester record to a perfect 8-0. After defeating Western Carolina, Clemson, UNC Charlotte, and UNC Chapel Hill the only thing left to accomplish is win the ACRHA Regional Tournament beginning on Feb. 26. Elon Roller Hockey Finishes in Top 8 at Nationals

The past week the Elon Roller Hockey Team competed in the NCRHA National College Tournament in Anahiem, Calif. After going 1-1-1 in the opening Round Robin tournament while competing in the toughest bracket at Nationals, the team went on to win its Sweet 16 game against St. Johns. Then the team advanced to the Elite 8, losing to UMaine 5-3, being as close as 3-3 with 9 minutes remaining. This marks the 2nd straight year for Elon earning a bid to nationals and a marked improvement from last year. For picture from the tournament see the link below.

Attention Ice Hockey Players

If you are interested in entering an adult league with a team comprised only of �þ�� students, this is your opportunity to do so. Games would be on Monday nights at the Icehouse of Greensboro. Would probably play 8-10 games, we can make our own schedule with a fee of $15/game/person. Let me know if you’re interested. We would start when we came back after Spring Break. First come, first serve.

Elon Roller Hockey Team to attend Nationals

With Elon Hockey’s victorious Division II regional tournament this past weekend, Elon has qualified has the top seed from the ACRHA to the National Tournament in Philadelphia during April. This tournament will feature all the best Roller Hockey teams in the nation. Elon’s recent involvement in the ACRHA has opened up the team to this opportunity, and we expect to have a successful showing. Anyone interested in supporting the team should visit the team’s Web site. Hockey is in North Carolina to stay!
