Huber, assistant professor of Religious Studies, has just published a book on Revelation with T and T Clark. Titled “Like a Bride Adorned: Reading Metaphor in John’s Apocalypse,” this book presents a new method for scholarly readings of Revelation’s metaphorical language. Exploring the conceptual metaphors undergirding Revelation’s nuptial or bridal imagery, Huber argues that the persuasive power of the text resides within the text’s metaphorical nature. This is Huber’s first book.

Huber’s book, and particularly the method it outlines, will be the featured topic of discussion of a panel at the annual meeting for the Society of Biblical Literature in San Diego this November.

Pugh, professor of religious studies, has published his third book, “Entertaining the Triune Mystery: God, Science, and the Space Between.” The book is an exploration of the boundaries between science and theology. Drawing on one of Christianity’s great mysteries, the life of the Trinity, Pugh seeks to bridge the gap between ancient faith traditions and scientific inquiry, in part by celebrating that gap itself as divine essence.
