Kristin’s Story, a discussion of acquaintance rape, 7 p.m. April 23 /u/news/2003/04/24/kristins-story-a-discussion-of-acquaintance-rape-7-p-m-april-23/ Thu, 24 Apr 2003 12:12:00 +0000 /u/news/2003/04/24/kristins-story-a-discussion-of-acquaintance-rape-7-p-m-april-23/ Please join us in Alumni Gym at 7 p.m., April 23 to hear the amazing message of Andrea Fuller Cooper. Her experience with acquaintance rape and depression comes through the tragic loss of her daughter, Kristin, and Alpha Chi Omega, in 1995. In 1998, Andrea decided to share Kristin’s story with Greek communities across the country. During the 1998-99 academic year, Andrea partnered with the Delta Delta Delta Foundation and created “Kristin’s Story,” an acquaintance rape and depression presentation. She has shared her story with more than 30 audiences in 15 different states. The response was overwhelming, leading to expansion of the “Kristin’s Story” program during the 1999-2000 academic year. Delta Delta Delta chose to partner with another National Panhellenic Conference group, Alpha Chi Omega, a natural choice. Both organizations fund her travel to universities and conferences. She has spoken at 160 campuses and at 15 conferences and reached more than 60,000 students, faculty and administrators.
