Maggie Castor, Grant De Roo, Brittany Garrett and Simone Lahood were accepted for their proposal to develop a gang awareness documentary with youth at the Burlington Housing Authority, a local non-profit organization with which the 2012 Periclean class is partnered.

Ashley Jobe, Katie Kenney, Jamie Milliski, and Brittany Moore will attend the conference to develop their proposal focusing on the Adolescent Girls’ Program run by Comprehensive Rural Health Project, an India-based NGO with whom their class is working.

While at the conference, the Periclean students will attend plenary and working sessions designed to allow them to develop their project ideas further. They will also have the opportunity to network with students and professionals engaged in similar efforts and to promote Elon’s Periclean Scholars program.

Additionally, the India group has applied for CGI U’s Outstanding Commitment Awards, the recipients of which will be announced by early May. If chosen to receive these grants, the group will use the funds to support their projects with CRHP.
