Habitat for Humanity will be hosting it’s second annual “HabiFest”, during Act!Speak!Build! Week (April 4-8), on Wednesday April 6.

The program will start at 7 PM in McKinnon Hall in Moseley Center. The program will feature Habitat Homeowners, all female a capella group Sweet Signatures, the Alamance Habitat Affiliate, and a visiting speaker from Habitat International from Americus, Georgia. Finally, a very special guest (Sponsored by Student Union Board), Sam Glenn, will wow everyone with his talent of chalk art and will speak about making a difference in the world! You can’t miss this!

Be sure to mark your calenders! April 6, 2005 @ 7 PM in McKinnon Hall, a night never to be forgotten.

NationStates provides a great understanding of how nations compete with each other, and how to govern a nation.

NationStates is a free nation simulation game. Build a nation and run it according to your own warped political ideals. Create a Utopian paradise for society’s less fortunate or a totalitarian corporate police state. Care for your people or deliberately oppress them. Join the United Nations or remain a rogue state. It’s really up to you.

Join the Elon region after you register, and good luck with your nation.

This event, sponsored by Elon Habitat for Humanity, was to help make Elon students more aware of poverty in the local area and around the globe. There were Habitat speakers in The Zone Wednesday evening along with a closing a capella song by Chris Hendricks and candlelight vigil. We would like to thank everyone who came out to support the cause and participate in our annual Shack-A-Thon this year.

For future reference, the annual All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Friday November 14th in the white parish house next to the Elon Community Church. The dinner will start at approximately 3:00 PM and last until 9:00 PM.

Our musical performances for this year are by Sweet Signatures and The Elon Gospel Choir!

Don’t forget about those donated O’Charlie’s rolls that come with your dinner!

Donations and the admission fee (yet to be determined) will all go toward building another Habitat house in Alamance County this year.

We look forward to seeing you there for some great eats, great fun, and some awesome entertainment!
