This workshop is an introduction to creating motion graphics with Apple’s Motion software and is open to all students.  However, knowledge of Apple/Macintosh computers and an understanding of Final Cut Pro is required. Topics covered will include: an introduction to the program layout, key framing, an overview of program tools, creating Motion templates and synching Motion project files with Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro. This is an intermediate level course.

In this introductory workshop users will explore the basics of ProTools Audio Systems. Topics such as file management, starting a session, importing audio, sound editing, and recording will be covered in this two-hour session. Upon completion, users will be able to creatively operate Pro Tools audio systems to record voice-overs, and edit audio.

Once you have attended the introduction to Pro Tools workshop you will be able to attend the Pro Tools Level 2 workshop on Tuesday, February 23 from 7:30-9:30pm in McEwen 008 (Attendance at the Intro to Pro Tools workshop is required in order to attend Pro Tools Level 2 workshop). Upon completion of the Pro Tools Level 2 workshop you will have access to Elon’s audio production facilities in McEwen.

This workshop is a basic introduction to editing with Final Cut Pro and is open to all students; however, knowledge of Apple/Macintosh computers is required as computer operation will not be covered. Topics covered will include: an overview of file management, project workflow, DV, HDV and HD file formats, FCP window layout, buttons and shortcuts, logging and capturing, working with text and graphics, filters, and basic key framing. This is a basic level course intended for students with little or no understanding of Final Cut Pro.
