More than 700 young alumni have made gifts to the university and participated in the final IGNITE Challenge, which ends on March 31. Here's a sampling of what they said after making their gifts.

The goal? To surpass last year’s record-setting 60 percent participation by Elon employees.

Members of the Class of 2012 are encouraged to make a gift to the university this year to show their support for their Elon experiences.

The New Leaf Society, of Burlington, N.C., has made a gift-in-kind to the Ever Elon Campaign to support the university’s new master of physician assistant studies program. The gift will support landscaping and other work associated with renovations of the Gerald L. Francis Center, which will house the PA and physical therapy programs on Elon’s main campus.

A $250,000 endowment gift to the Ever Elon Campaign from The Levine-Sklut Family Foundation will significantly expand the university’s Jewish Studies program by establishing The Lori and Eric Sklut Emerging Scholar in Jewish Studies. This gift was made possible thanks to Elon parents Eric and Lori Sklut, of Charlotte, N.C.

Each year, gifts from alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff sustain and strengthen the hallmarks of an Elon education. During 2010-2011, members of the Elon community contributed $5.3 million in annual gifts to the university, supporting close to 200 programs.
